Discover the story of a company that has been setting standards in the acoustics industry for decades. From its early beginnings to international success: here we share how passion, know-how, and quality come together at Bestacoustics Reinhardt GmbH – and what the future holds.
The core business of Reinhardt GmbH, as we know it today, originated in the 1970s. During this time, Gunther Reinhardt worked part-time as a guitar teacher. He had difficulty finding affordable yet good instruments for his students. As a result, he quickly set out to find manufacturers with whom he could bring such instruments to market.
From this need, Gunther Reinhardt founded the company "Blazer & Reinhardt" in 1984 together with the guitar maker Rudi Blazer. The core business of Blazer & Reinhardt included, among other things, the distribution of classical and acoustic guitars in Germany.
After the end of Blaser & Reinhardt, Gunther Reinhardt founded Bestacoustics Reinhardt GmbH in 2001 as a wholesale company for the distribution of third-party and own brands in the German-speaking region.
Due to the constantly changing market situation, Reinhardt GmbH has increasingly focused on developing its own brands since its founding in the early 2000s and successfully establishing them in the market. Today, the classical guitar brand La Mancha Guitars is one of the best-known brands in the mid and lower price segments.
Between 2001 and 2015, Reinhardt GmbH laid the foundation for long-term growth through a clear strategic focus. During this period, the company successfully expanded by combining its own product lines with the distribution of renowned international brands such as Cole Clark Guitars, Ramirez, Fusion, Randon, and Kai. This diverse brand portfolio enabled broader market reach and greater flexibility in a rapidly evolving industry. At the same time, a team of long-standing and dedicated employees played a key role in shaping this phase of development. Their expertise, passion, and strong identification with the company provided the stability and innovative drive that continue to define Reinhardt GmbH today.
In 2021, we acquired the Duke Guitars brand from La Corda, thereby expanding our own brand portfolio to include a strong classical and acoustic guitar brand in the mid and upper price segments. Duke Guitars was founded in 2010 by Armin Hanika. Hanika remains an important part of the Duke product development team as an advisor.
After over 40 years in the industry, Gunther Reinhardt decided in 2024 to pass the baton to the younger generation. He appointed David Jendro as the managing director of Reinhardt GmbH and thus retired from operational business. For Reinhardt GmbH, this marks the beginning of a new era.
