The Ramírez dynasty dates back to 1870, when twelve-year-old José Ramírez I began an apprenticeship with Francisco González. After twelve years of training, he founded his own workshop in Madrid in 1882—today considered one of the most prestigious guitar-making workshops in the world.

Cole Clark has been offering so-called hybrid models since 2019—acoustic guitars with a second output and a built-in humbucker.
